Everyone is welcome at Checkmat Dublin! Nobody will ever be left out in our academy. The coaches watch the room and ensure that even the most shy person is partnered up. Our belief is that EVERYBODY is equal from white belt to black belt.

We believe everyone can benefit from Jiu Jitsu training regardless of previous experience or perceived physical ability. We have dedicated  our lives to this because we are fully aware of the many positive impacts Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training has on every individual and this is something we wish to share with you!

We also provide the option of attending classes with your children depending on their age which can be a great time saver for families.

We have a very successful competition team. We try to support as many local competitions as possible.

You are under NO PRESSURE to compete but all members help the competition team just by turning up and training.

Competing is a great way of building confidence and helps you to bond with your team mates.

Competing also allows you to battle test your Jiu Jitsu against people outside your club and can highlight areas for improvement as well as show what you are good at.

Being part of a team is also a great way of making new friends and meeting new people!
